Coastal Family Day Care was established in April 1986 and prior to July 2006 covered the coast from Penguin to Circular Head, the West Coast and King Island.

With the introduction of the abolition of boundaries for Schemes, we now have educators in areas outside those listed above including Ulverstone, Devonport and Latrobe.

The Scheme, founded by the Burnie Baptist Church, is a community based, non-profit organisation. A Board of Governance is responsible to oversee the administration and governance of the Scheme. The Board includes representation from the community, educators, parents and early childhood professionals. This broad representation gives balance and perspective to views expressed and decisions made.

The Board of Governance meets monthly with minutes being recorded. The financial year for the Scheme runs from July to June with the Annual General Meeting being held in August each year. The Scheme Manager reports to each meeting.

The financial position of the Scheme is reported at each meeting with a Scheme audit required prior to the AGM. The Scheme Auditor is Lovell Morrison.

All Scheme minutes and financial statements are available on request to educators and registered families.
